Week 33

Grade 1 parents,

We have been working hard on our Undokai practice. I will not spoil the fun!

We read with our Undokai partners for guided reading so that we could get to know each other.

For inquiry we have been working on our city. We have come up with all the different public and private spaces that we need to have a safe, clean, happy, town.  All the students have chosen jobs that they will undertake in our town.

In maths, we have been wrapping up multiplication and will be moving on to division next week (grouping).

Kind regards,
Sara Matthews

We have been working on our Language Centres, students are now learning how to describe characters in stories. We will be creating our own character for our city!
Students have been also learning about maps in inquiry. They have been encouraged to bring in any maps that they find! We are collecting them for our classroom display.

Week 28

Dear Grade 1 parents,

This week we have been working very hard for International Children's Day. Students have been making some choices and brainstorming how they would like to help our environment.

We have been collecting any plastic packaging so we can investigate ways to reduce, reuse, recycle.

If you have any materials at home please bring them in for the students to use. Students may inquire as to how their own family is helping recycle waste at home. Please talk to your children about this so they can share it in class.

Kind regards,
Sara Matthews
